Camp Ideal 2013: The Ideal Summer for Your Child

Camp Ideal is a summer day camp sponsored by the Federation for children in the community ages 5-12. For more than 50 years, Camp Ideal has been dedicated to promoting and sharing the values and ideals of the Jewish tradition alongside its commitment to provide a safe, enjoyable and growth-filled summer experience for children on the Federation’s beautiful 27-acre campus.

In an outdoor setting that features a recreation area, picnic shelter, hiking trails, tennis court, basketball courts, baseball field, playground equipment and a sand pit for games and sports, Camp Ideal provides creative opportunities for children to play and experience new adventures while learning to appreciate their heritage and develop positive personal and social values.

Time and Schedule: Camp runs Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with an option of early care or late pick up. Our four-week camp season starts on Monday, June 24 and continues through Friday, July 19.  There is no camp on Thursday, July 4.

Camp Staff:  Our camp staff is under the direction of Israeli Shlicha Lea Lehavi assisted by Moshe Friedland. The counselors are trained, responsible, and professional. Campers are carefully supervised at all times. 

What is a camp day like? Each day at Camp Ideal, children enjoy a variety of fun, educational programs involving the arts, music, sports, nature hikes, swimming, Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, Jewish life, Israel education, and many other great activities.

What do the kids bring to camp? Water bottle, sunscreen, hat, closed-toed shoes, dairy (no meat) or vegetarian lunch in an insulated bag. On swim days, swimsuits and towel  (a change of clothes is also suggested).

All Camp Fees are due June 15 unless prior arrangements have been made.

 * Members of the Federation make a minimum $18 contribution to the  Jewish Federation Annual Campaign.
