After careful consideration, we have decided to suspend the Reading of the Names ceremony that is usually held in Judge John Broden's court room the Monday after we commemorate Yom Hashoah at the Federation. We deeply appreciated Judge Broden for allowing us to hold the ceremony in his court room.
We have noticed a decline in attendance, most likely due to it being held during a busy work day, which we understand completely. We feel that to make sure we are getting the most impact out of this very important ceremony, a change was worth trying. Therefore, we will be moving our program to two of our local high schools, John Adams and Penn. It is our children in whom we want to instill Holocaust education and we feel that this will be a strong step in that direction.
Our regular Yom Hashoah program is of course open to the public and will be held on Sunday April 19th.
