Elisheva Lerman: “My Journey from Ethiopia to Israel” at 1:00 PM
Elisheva will share her personal story of making Aliyah from Ethiopia to Israel with her family at age 8 in the context of the amazing story of Ethiopian Jewry. Elisheva was born in 1980 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and made Aliya with her family in 1991 as part of Operation Solomon. Elisheva grew up in northern Israel, studied at Yemin Orde boarding school, served as soldier-teacher in the army and then earned her law degree at the University of Haifa.

11:00 AM Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAzmaut Ceremony (with music)

This year we will combine the ceremonies for Yom HaZikaron and Yom Haazmaut. Yom Hazikaron is Israel’s Memorial Day. In this ceremony, we remember Israel’s fallen soldiers and the victims of terrorism. Then we will transition to celebrate Yom HaAzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, followed by a Torch lighting ceremony.

12:00 Israeli Lunch

Our menu is Shakshuka, Burekas, fries, hummus, pita, Israeli salads and desserts. The cost is $7 per person, $3 for ages 4-10, kids 3 and under are free or $25 per family.
